How Does Dress Hiring Work?

Hiring our garments is as simple as “Book It. Wear It. Return It.”

Simply browse our categories and collections to view our full range of garments for hire. When you find the right garment for you, select your hire dates, enter your personal details and make payment. Your hire is confirmed when you receive your email booking confirmation.

We will post your garment in a ready-to-wear condition a few days before your hire using Australia Post Express Shipping. Once you receive it, be sure to check the garment over and notify us of any issues within 12 hours.

When the time comes, wear the dress like it’s your own! Make sure you tag us: @designer_night

On your hire end date, just pop the dress back in the included Express Post bag and take it to your local Australia Post office. Make sure you get a lodgement receipt for proof of postage so the item can be tracked if lost.

How long do I keep my item(s) for?

You have the rental for 4 days. The rental period starts when the dress arrives. Designer Night will make sure to send it out in advance, so you have the dress on the date you chose. We suggest booking your rental for at least one day in advance of your event. For example, if your event is on Saturday, select Friday as your start date, and Monday as your return date. You can ship back the dress on Monday.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel with over 14 days’ notice prior to your event, you will be refunded the full amount, or you can opt to have a credit note, valid for 12 months.

Any cancellation made with less than 7 days’ notice will result in a credit note which will be valid for 12 months.

Oh no! My dress arrived and it does not fit. What is the return policy?

When you order an item online, there’s always a chance it might not fit so don’t worry. If this is the case, please let us know within 12 hours of delivery; a credit note or garment exchange will be arranged. The garment must be returned within 24 hours of receiving it.

Do I need to dry clean the item?

Not at all! Dry cleaning is included in the hire fee and is looked after by our professional dry cleaners once returned. Some of our garments require specialist care, and we will take care of this for you. All you need to do is return the item on time.

Can I extend my rental?

Absolutely! If your rental is not required by another borrower, you can contact our friendly team to arrange an extension.

Is there a late fee?

Designer Night will charge a $20 late fee each day after the 4th day of your rental.

What happens if I lose or damage the item?

Don’t stress, dry cleaning will usually do the trick. However, if there is extensive damage there will be an extra dry-cleaning charge of $20+ depending on the damage. If the garment is damaged beyond repair, we will charge the full retail price minus the hire fee. Payment plans can be arranged where necessary, with instalments options over up to 8 weeks.

What if I don’t wear the garment?

Once the garment leaves our showroom the hire is considered successful, unless the dress is faulty. We do not offer refunds for change of mind.
